this is the life

**if you are looking for the Nook blog hop, it's HERE**

We had a great weekend. Aislynn is on spring break this week and it was so nice knowing that we did not have to get up early today;) We don't have the whole week off of work, but yesterday was the first day that Shaun and I have both had off in awhile. My sister came over to go to the beach with us. She is moving this week to Port Charlotte...so she thinks, we are devising a plan to kidnap her;)

I snapped a couple of photos before my camera battery died:

Kids are funny...they want to go in the water sooooo badly, they say it's not too cold...even though it is way too cold, in my opinion:)

This beach is much shell-ier then the beaches we used to go to, the kids like collecting them in their buckets, and Aislynn had a whole pile of them...according to her, the broken ones are the best;)

He just likes digging in the sand and could spend hours doing just that;)

We ended the day by grilling for the first time this year (burgers!) and making smores by the pool. Only Aislynn was brave enough to swim;) Rather than claim "this is the best day," she always gives it a little twist...yesterday was the best day ever grilling:)

Today we are off to a local strawberry farm to pick some strawberries:) And yes, the camera is fully charged:)

How was your weekend?!

dear lizzy love

**If you are looking for the American Crafts/Scor-Pal blog hop, it is still open HERE!

I am pretty sure I have professed my love a couple of times for American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan. I can't help it...I think it is my favorite line ever to be released by American Crafts. Maybe my favorite line from any manufacturer;) I have a couple of projects to share using it...

Here is a layout I created:
Aren't the colors so pretty?! I love all of the little banner stickers too:)

I also created a card for a challenge on the Nook's card forum:
I wanted to try something a little different, so I used a piece of vellum that is included in the line as my card base. With a piece of white cardstock adhered on the inside, and the patterned paper, it was stable enough to work, yay!!

Wanna win some Dear Lizzy Neapolitan?? It's Dear Lizzy week on the American Crafts blog, so be sure to check out the lovely design team projects that have been featured this week and comment on THIS POST by Friday for a chance to win;)

american crafts + scor-pal blog hop

Welcome to the American Crafts + Scor-Pal blog hop! If you've made it this far, you are almost halfway done! I hope you are having fun hopping and that you are feeling inspired at all the neat things you can do with a Scor-Pal:)

For my project, I used the Scor-Pal a couple of different ways. I made a couple cards, along with some matching envelopes (which were incredibly easy with the instructions that come with the Scor-Pal!!).
I love the bright colors in the American Crafts Fresh Squeezed line:) They make this bright-color-lovin' girl so happy:)
It is hard to tell in the photo, but on the strip of green cardstock, I scored lines 1/4 inch apart...just to add a little more interest;)
I stuck the card in the envelopes I made and wrapped a strip of patterned paper around them (and yes...I did score. I wrapped some twine around the patterned paper and made an embellished accordion fold flower (again-so easy with the scor-pal!!) to go on the top:)
a pretty little gift to giveaway to a friend:)

Do you want a giveaway? I have a 6x6 Dear Lizzy Neapolitan paper pad to give to someone, so please leave me a comment!! I will leave the comments open until Friday, March 23rd, midnight CST.

ten on tuesday (i mean wednesday)

I really meant to publish this on Tuesday...but I fell asleep on the couch with the laptop on my lap, on number 8 around ten-ish and woke up after midnight...so Wednesday it is:)

1. Spring forward. ugh....I hate it. Totally throws every one's schedule off. I have had one grumpy girl in the mornings by having to wake her up for school. How do you feel about losing that hour?

2. I have a page (a 2 pager!!!) up on the Ormolu blog...

3. I have really been slacking on exercising and eating well. Really. Like since before Christmas. I started watching what I ate last week and I got on the scale today and lost 4 lbs! I know that won't happen every week, but it is encouraging that it happened the first week:)

4. Aislynn had her first soccer game last Saturday and it was sooooo funny to watch;) So cute. One of A's best buds is on the team, and a girl from the kindergarten class down the hall, and they mainly just wanted to talk and play around:) Hopefully this week will be better.

5. We planted a few things last weekend...2 different types of lettuce and bell peppers. I hope they grow!!! I would have planted more, but I way underestimated how much soil I needed!!

6. The Nook has an awesome deal for new subs...sign up now, in March (there are less than 10 kits left) and get your April kit plus grab bag for free. At the end of your year subscription, you will get another kit for free:) Sign up HERE!

7. If you are wondering what the April kit will hold, look HERE:)

8. I have a page up on the American Crafts blog today:)

9. St Patrick's Day is Saturday, so I think on Friday we will be giving these out to the buddies at school. We did it last year and it's just too cute to not do it again:)

10. Good tv is about to happen and I am excited:) Any Game of Thrones or Mad Men fans out there?!

Happy Hump Day !!

some scrappiness

Hello! I have been seriously slacking in the blogging department...just being online in general. My schedule has changed a bit at work. I was working about 25 hours and Shaun and I figured I may as well work 5 more hours a week to get the nice benefits;) So now I am working a few more hours but in less days (3 days a week). Those are some long days...couple that with the fact that the tourism season in arriving so I am busy busy busy the whole shift. I have been one sleepy girl by the end of those days! I have the next few days off, but today is an early release day, so it's off to pick A up early then to the park for a birthday party, so on and so on. I hope to get my garden planted within the next couple days and snag some beach time.

So that's my whole long story;) If you made it past all that, I actually do have some scrappy projects to share. I haven't scrapped this week, so these are from awhile ago:
Every once in awhile, the Nook does photo swaps, and I participated in this one. I swapped photos with Tara, and she was sweet enough to fulfill my request for sending me wintery pictures:) She sent me these photos of her beautiful family! I used Crate Paper's Snow Day collection (with some snowflake embellishments from American Crafts), and she told me that was her very favorite line by Crate:) yay! I had lots of fun with her pictures...someday I will get my kids in the snow!!

Some close ups:
I sent Tara some pictures of A in the sand and this is what she created:
I love it! I love the tags, colors, and white space!! I had no idea how to scrap these photos and I am just over the moon about how Tara scrapped them:) Thanks again, so much!!!
*****

My friend, Lilith, was sweet enough to let me know one of my pages was the featured project at Two Peas...that has never happened to me before, I was so excited! I took a screenshot, but it is kinda hard to see:
One of my other pages was in the top 3 most bookmarked (along with some other Nook gals!). yay!

Here is the page that was the featured project:
I am so so so soooooo in love with the new AC Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line. It is gorgeous. I need more of it. I don't ever want to run  out, ha;)
*****

I have another card to share that I created for a challenge on the Nook's card forum. I used the February kit for this:
*****

And one more share....I made this frame for the AC blog:
You can check out the full picture tutorial on how to recreate it HERE:)

Happy weekend, friends!!!
(I know it is only Thursday, but since A is out of school tomorrow, it's the weekend!!!)

little yellow bicycle projects

I am up at the Little Yellow Bicycle blog today with my projects I made as part of the Saturdays Cycling Team.

Another one of those pictures I have had printed forever...I think not having very many colors in the photo made it hard for me to choose papers to go with it. I think the Saturdays collection went pretty good with it;)
A pretty simple page, but hey...I am a clean scrapper;)

Some close ups:
I pretty much love the Paper Flowers kit. And the burlap leaves from the Felt and Burlap Flower Stickers:)

I also whipped up a card:
Make sure you head over to the Little Yellow Bicycle blog HERE for full instructions on how to make these projects:)
