jillibean soup happy camper stew blog hop

Good morning!! I hope my American readers had a Happy 4th yesterday and enjoyed time with friends and family and fireworks! Jillibean Soup is celebrating something today, the newest release, Happy Camper Stew and we are celebrating with a blog hop!

The design team has gathered together to share with you projects using Happy Camper Stew. It is filled with cute retro camper images, adorable woodland animals, and patterns perfect for scrapping camping/outdoorsy/summer pictures!

I created a card, which came together super easy with the Bite Size Bits patterned paper. I trimmed the card from the patterned paper, layered it on a card base of kraft cardstock and patterned paper, and topped it off with the lantern die-cut.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Happy Camper Stew/Scores of Smores, Dash of Danger, Bite Size Bits, 1 Part Camping Gear
Pea Pod Parts: Happy Camper Stew
Kraft Cardstock

Your next stop on the hop is the fabulous Patty!
There is a giveaway on the Jillibean Soup blog, so make sure you leave a comment there for a chance to win!
 Happy Hopping!!

Serendipity Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the blog hop to celebrate Paper Issue's latest theme, Serendipity. You should have arrived here from Melissa's blog. If this is your first stop, please head over to Paper Issues to start from the beginning.

Elle's Studio is the sponsor for this theme, and she was kind enough to send us her newest collection, Serendipity, to create with. I created this layout with the goodies she sent us:
The flowers were fussy cut from one of the patterned papers in the collection, and inspired me to use these photos of Aislynn because they reminded me of tropical flowers;)

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I'm the last one on the hop list, so go ahead and hop over to like Paper Issues on facebook.
Elle's Studio is giving away 5 Serendipity packs, so make sure you like Elle's Studio on facebook, and that you leave a comment;)
This theme runs through May 4th, so you can link up any projects using Elle's Studio goodies, or related to chance, fate, destiny, luck/fortune, and/or kismet.

Thanks for hopping with us today!!!

project life week 7

I have been neglecting this blog. The truth is...we have a lot on our plates right now. I am also feeling in a bit of a creative rut lately, which adds up to a whole lot of nothing. At the end of the night I want to sit at my desk and create, but then I sit and that's pretty much it, lol!

Anyways, this will pass I know...but I do have some good news! Last week I was offered a job that is a huge jump in pay, responsibility, and I am super excited about it! I start in May, and I am sad to be leaving my current company and work family, but excited to start this new path;) I am feeling a little anxious how we will all adjust with Kieran starting a new preschool and me going back to work full-time, and and and...all those changes and more.

I guess I use these project life posts to post what is on my mind;) I'll quit yapping and share my week seven:
This was Valentine's week, hence the red and hearts;) I tried a few different things this week. The most time-consuming part of PL for me is adding the journaling and little tid-bits about the photos, so in photoshop, I added journaling directly on some of the pictures. I also decided to add journaling on one of the 3x4 pockets and use arrows to connect the words+photos. I like it. I think I am going to play around adding journaling when I edit my photos some more. It makes it so much easier:)
I used lots and lots of Studio Calico Snippets on this week:) I love the colors in that collection:)

I love Aislynn's outfit she picked out for Valentine's Day:) She even had me paint her fingers pink the night before, with red hearts and glitter;)

The blue chevron is a printable card from Paislee Press (link below in supply list) and I added a wood veneer heart, journaling via photoshop, and stamped the "overheard."

So that's a wrap! To be honest, I want to throw my assignments out the window and work on project life. I think that is not helping my creative rut...wanting to work on something else, but can't!

jillibean soup designer's challenge

For March, the Jillibean Soup design team was proposed a designer challenge to use as many Jillibean Soup products on a layout as we could with it still looking good;)

Here is what I came up with:
I used one of the new placemats...that I loooove;) I used my circle punches to punch the circles of patterned paper. It was a little tricky lining them up under the placemats, but I was patient and used a repositional glue first to make sure I had them all in the right spots;)
One thing that I just love about Jillibean is that all of the colors coordinate so well together! I used 19 patterned papers from 10 different collections:)

Here are some close-ups:

This photo doesn't really even do his lashes justice. They are super long. Aislynn has long ones too...we can't figure out where they get them from. Shaun or I don't have short lashes, but not super long ones either. Maybe they will grow into their lashes;)
Have a happy weekend!!!
