squeezing in a few more projects...

Before October (can you believe it is October...sheesh!!) starts, I wanted to share my last 2 projects I created with the Scraptastic September Noted Kit.
The first one is a little bit different (I think?) from my normal style:
I have a tutorial on the Scraptastic blog today with a step-by-step on how I created the background. Check it out HERE!
The next one is a layout I created using the September sketch. Here is the sketch, created by design team member, Heather Landry:

Here is the layout I created, using the Noted kit+add-on:
I loved using the My Mind's Eye enamel dots as water droplets;)

Come see how the rest of the design team interpreted the sketch HERE!

p.s. The monthly challenges at Scraptastic (posted every Thursday on the blog) are for everyone and you do not need to use a kit. Participants have a chance to win a gift card to the shop, so the more challenges you participate in, the more chances you have at winning.

p.p.s. Have you seen the October kit sneaks? I am going to be playing with Blue Skies:)

p.p.p.s. Thanks for all of your sweet comments/messages/e-mails about Jillibean soup, I am so thrilled and I truly appreciate all of the love:)

friends

I created this layout a week or so ago with the "Noted" Scraptastic kit (September).
These two have been friends since pre-school and even though they aren't in the same first grade class, they still get to see each other everyday on the bus, and their classrooms are right next to each other. It has been so fun watching them grow up together...don't they look like babies in the far left photo?!

I love the die cuts that came with the kit, and I am still obsessed with the washi tape;)

The Noted kit has sold out, but the Just Beachy kit is still available;) I am hoping to squeeze 2 more projects out of my kit before October gets here;)

seven

As I said earlier, Aislynn turned 7 last week. It is hard to believe she is 7! Crazy! I told her to stop growing up and she told me she couldn't stop;)
On her actual birthday, I took cupcakes to school and had plans per her request to make corn chowder for dinner, but she decided she wanted to go out to eat instead. As soon as she got home from school, she wanted to open her presents:) Of course she already knew what the big one was because Mr. K was too excited to keep a secret;)

I found a chocolate frog from Harry Potter;)

We had leftover cupcakes on her actual birthday and I made the requested coconut cream cake for her friend party:
She wanted a luau themed party, so that is what we did;) We didn't have a huge number of kids, and Aislynn had fun:) It was so funny when she opened her presents from them because they all wanted her to open the present they got her first;)

So a little about Miss A at 7...If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, you will get a variety of answers...an artist, musician, a geologist, or a dolphin trainer. She wants to live in New York City, but then at other times she says she wants to live with us when she is a grown up (hee hee!).
She has lost 6 teeth and sadly doesn't believe in the tooth fairy anymore. In fact, the last tooth she lost she said she would rather keep the tooth then get the money.
She loves loves LOVES to read. She finished all the Harry Potter books over the summer and has moved on the the Box Car Children series and it has been so much fun introducing her to books that I loved as a kid like the Little House books, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Matilda, the Ramona Quimby books, etc. She devours a book in a day. I am thankful her teacher and the school appreciate her love of reading and they let her go to the library everyday to switch out books instead of just once a week.
Her favorite movies are the Harry Potter ones (although we do have to skip some scenes-too scary!), her favorite t.v. show is still Martha Speaks, and when asked what her favorite foods are, she says strawberries, red peppers, and cereal. Her favorite colors are sparkly purple and glittery hot pink;) Her favorite animals are unicorns and horses.
Aside from reading, her other love is to create (yay!) things. She loves art projects and painting (particularly watercolors). In fact, she really doesn't even play with her toys much more...she is either reading or painting.
I still enjoy watching her around her peers. She is a leader and even though she is shy and reserved, she is a social butterfly. I am so proud of how she acts when she is with her friends and she definitely doesn't do something because the other kids do...she is her own person and I so hope we can nourish this and keep it that way as she grows older.
She is taking a drama/theater class right now and looooooooves it! I didn't know how she would like it because of her shyness, but she has had 2 classes so far and I honestly have never seen her so excited or happy about a class/activity before. It is giving her confidence and I can't wait to see their performance in December:)
She is one awesome kid and even though most days I feel like I am fumbling through this whole parenting thing, I look at her and know we must be doing some thing right;)
xoxo, sweet girl...you're the best girl ever;)

paris girl cards

I am back with more cards, today using the Carta Bella Paris Girl collection:
On the sticker sheet, there were 4 of these thank you labels, so I decided to add 3 of them on one card...instead of saying thank you so much, I think this will do the trick;)

It was hard for me to choose between all of the pretty patterns in this collection, so I used lots of them:) I added more embellishments then I normally do on cards, but I like the way this card came out. Girly for a pretty princess:)

I couldn't resist adding some twine from The Twinery on these cards too. If you have followed my blog for awhile, you know that is nothing new;)

Thanks for stopping by today!!

baby boy cards

I feel like I have been out of the loop for awhile. Last week was a certain little girl's birthday over here and it felt like a week long celebration. There was her actual birthday, cupcakes at school, and her friend party this past weekend. And now the poor sweetie is sick with tonsillitis and is staying home from school today. I'll be back with photos+words about what an awesome 7 year old she is, but for now, I am going to share a couple of cards I created using the Bella Blvd Baby Boy line.
I had fun punching hearts in a strip and using the negative strip rather then the punched hearts.

I think this line is so adorable with the little animals and I love the color palette. Now I just need some baby boys to be born;) It seems like all the babies being born in my life lately are girls;)

I will be back tomorrow with some more cards:)
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

goody boxes

A few weeks ago, I went through my stash and purged...a lot. I have 5 flat-rate boxes stuffed with goodies.
I would love the extra space on my shelves where these are, so I am offering them for sale. There are lots of patterned papers, packages of thickers (there are some letters missing), embellishments, and a couple of mini albums in each box. Most of the patterned papers sheets are whole, but there are a few that have punched shapes missing or maybe 6x12.

Here are 3 pictures just to give you an idea of what is in them:
box one...has lots of American Crafts Nightfall and Dear Lizzy Christmas, along with some Echo Park Countryside and more

box two...My Little Yellow Bicycle Saturdays, Simple Stories 100 Days of Summer, Echo Park Splash, and Echo Park Playground and more

box three...American Crafts Holly Jolly, Bella Blvd Sunshine and Happiness (almost the whole collection...just missing one sheet of patterned paper), Echo Park Little Girl, and American Crafts Garden Cafe and more

I didn't get photos of box four and five, but the above pictures should give you a clue about what they look like. Box Four has Crate Paper Snow Day, Simple Stories Summer Fresh, Amy Tangerine, Echo Park This and That, and more. Box Five has Crate Paper Portrait, Echo Park Summer Days, October Afternoon Sasparilla, and more:)

I am selling them at $15 a piece plus the shipping (flat-rate boxes are $11.35), so the total would be $26.35. If you are international and want one, e-mail me HERE and we can figure out the shipping.

If you are interested, e-mail me HERE and let me know if you have a box preference:) I will send you a paypal invoice and once you're paid, I will send the box of goodies off to you!

what's for dinner?

A couple of weeks ago, it was Thickers week on the American Crafts blog. It was my last project to create for the blog and I never shared it here, so here we go:
The question I am almost guaranteed to be asked every day is "What's for dinner?" I created this little frame that I can write on with a dry erase marker to answer that question;)

Check out the post on the American Crafts blog HERE for the step by step on how to make one of your own;)

So what's for dinner at your house tonight? We had Baked Potato Soup;)

noted

The September kits are live at Scraptastic and one thing I really love about this kit club is that there are 2 kits for you to choose between monthly. So if one kit maybe isn't your style/colors/whatever...the other is sure to be;)

Here are the kits for September:

Although I love BOTH kits, I chose to play with the Noted kit and Noted Add-On since I had already gotten a chance to play with American Crafts Shoreline;)

The first thing I created with my kits were 2 cards:
I had good intentions to create with just the main kit, but those butterflies really really wanted to appear on this card, as well as the enamel dots;) The twine here is from the "The Story Begins" kit.

I love this card:) I love those little wood veneer people:)

My very first blog post for Scraptastic occurred during Pinterest Inspiration week and I was inspired by THIS pin to create this:
I am pretty much in love with washi tape now...I have been hoarding some rolls and not actually using them, but I used the tape that came in the add-on and I am now officially obsessed;)

Some detail shots:

That is all I have created with the kit so far, but there is surely more to come;)

american crafts farewell blog hop

Good morning everyone! This blog hop is a little bittersweet for me, since it is my last one with American Crafts. I have enjoyed my year with them so so much! Everyone on the team and the products have been a dream to work with and I still am pinching myself that I had this opportunity!
I wanted to share a few of my favorite projects I created during the year:
Amy Tangerine Sketchbook
removed for publication
 Chap

I have a few favorites that I couldn't share because they are being published, but this gives you a good sample;)

One of the very best things about working with American Crafts is just how generous they are, so leave me a comment and Monday morning, I will randomly pick a winner to receive some American Crafts goodies from my stash;)

Back to hopping...here is the list of blogs to visit in the blog hop:

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!
