december daily

I am going to attempt it again this year. Last year I stopped around Day 5, but I did finish it the 2 years before that, so hoping I can hang on to that;) It is really cool looking back on the albums:)

Here is the cover:
I am using a Simple Stores 6x8 binder this year. I like this size, and I like that the page protectors have so many different sized pockets:) I kept the cover pretty simple...I added the twine at the last minute because I feel the need to put twine on everything:)

Here's a peek from the side:

I did not pre-make any of the foundation pages because I wasn't sure how to prepare them for what we would be doing. I collected most of the supplies I want to use and organized them by my desk:
I am planning on using mostly the Crate Paper Sleigh Ride collection, but I am pretty sure some Carta Bella Merry and Bright will make it in there, as well as some Jillibean Soup Winter Tortellini and Spinach Soup. It's the pink. I totally count pink as a Christmas color;) Turquoise too...which all of these collections have in common;)

Some of the stuff I plan on using, I pulled from my stash, but I did snag these flair buttons and canvas numbered buttons, and I plan on printing some of these babies too...

Most of my Crate Paper Sleigh Ride goodies, I got from the Paper Issues shop...as well as this washi tape, and this washi tape;) Use the code PAM20 to save 20% off supplies;)

I will be sharing my pages every few days or so here, at least that is what I am hoping;) I am also going to focus more on December moments rather than daily. I know with our schedules...we might not do something holiday related everyday, but some days do more than one thing...and I want this album to reflect holiday-related moments in December:) So my plan is to document 25 December moments.

What about you...are you attempting a December Daily this year? What approach are you taking this year?

thanksgiving

Goo morning! Long time, no post! I hope all my friends who celebrate Thanksgiving had a wonderful holiday. We had good one, even if it was a little different. This was the first year that it was just the four of us. We stayed home and cooked, but it was still fun, even if we did miss everyone so much!

Aislynn brought this home from school on Monday...and I love what she wrote;)

I snapped a few photos this year...
our turkey...he was yummy (yes a he, because according to Aislynn, all turkeys are boys, lol).

our feast;)

Some family shots:

A silly silly boy...who loved his Thanksgiving food:)

We made some place cards while the turkey was cooking:

and one shot of all of us:

We spent the rest of the day stuffed and the rest of the weekend hanging out with friends, a little shopping, the kids driving each other and as a result, Shaun and I...craaaaazy. We were all a little ready for Monday to come;) We also saw Wreck-It Ralph, which was actually pretty darn cute and funny!

We are now ready for December to arrive and all the fun that comes with that! I will be back tomorrow to share a little about my December Daily album this year:)

little pumpkin

When I saw the Farmer's Market kit for November Scraptastic, I thought immediately of these photos of Kieran. I printed 3, but ended up only using 2...does that happen to you ever?
I loved the mix of colors and patterns in this kit, mixing Simple Stories and Lily Bee...the 2 lines really complimented each other. I love the fall-ish feel of the kit...only wishing I had more fall photos!!

I created a banner with the Jillibean Soup Banner Bites and an Elle's Studio banner piece for the date.

For my journaling, I printed it on the Lily Bee tag and stuck it under the photo. I couldn't make it work anywhere on the page...so sometimes you have to just hide it;)

Hard to believe these were from 3 years ago...seems like not so long ago. I am sure I will be saying the same thing in 5, 10 and 20 years;)

smile!

I have a card to share with you that is on the Jillibean Soup blog today:
I knew I had to make a card with that smile tag from the Grandma's Lima Bean Soup Bite Size Bits paper.

Happy Monday, I hope you have lots to smile about today:)

when skies are grey

I wanted to share the rest of my projects I created with the Scraptastic November When Skies Are Grey kit. The add-on is sold out, but the main kit is still available.
Here is a card I created with the main kit:
The birds are from the October Blue Skies kit, that are misted with Clay Mister Huey's.
For all of my layouts this month with this kit, I used instagram photos. I didn't plan too, but I suppose I take so many photos that way now, it's bound to happen!

removed for publication

The clothespin is from my stash and the enamel dots are from the October Blue Skies kit. If you didn't know, Jessica throws in an extra goody with the kit if you ordered a kit from the previous month. This month it was Mister Huey's in Taxi. I used it here to color my little alpha stickers in the title and I sprayed the patterned paper that my journaling was on.

I really loved the custom die cuts that were in this month's kit. The LOL bubble (which I colored with Mister Huey's taxi!) was perfect for this ticklish page;) I used a sketch from Heather which will be on the Scraptastic blog soon;)
The photo was taken at night, so just crappy inside lighting, with my phone and no flash...so it is super bad quality and grainy, but oh well...it tells the story;)

If I haven't said it before...I love the stamps Heather designed this month, especially that star;) You can purchase the stamp sets HERE and HERE.

Happy Sunday, friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

first day of fall tradition

I have a pumpkin pie baking as I type this. There are certain things I make every fall, pumpkin pie being one of them. I wanted to do something a little different with my pie this year and I needed to make sure it would be okay before Thanksgiving;) Another one of the things we make every fall is pumpkin bread. The last 2 years we have baked some the first day of fall, so this year Aislynn deemed this act as our first day of fall tradition.

yes ma'am.

I documented this using the Jillibean Soup Country Pumpkin Chowder line and my layout is on the Jillibean Soup blog today:

Pretty perfect fall colors in this line, wouldn't you say?!
Make sure you check out the other layouts the design team created HERE, and I shared our pumpkin bread recipe on my blog last year HERE;)

What are your fall traditions?
p.s. If my pie turns our like I hope...I'll be sure to share the recipe;)

merry and bright

Just dropping by quickly to share a layout I created with the Carta Bella Merry and Bright collection. This layout was posted on the Carta Bella blog today:
These pictures are from Christmas 2010, and like lots of pictures...I print them out with the best of intentions to scrap them and they sit in a pile...for a long time. Most times this works out because a paper collection comes along that is a perfect fit with the photos. These are some of my favorite pictures of me and the man;)

I'll share a close up:
and then you can go HERE to get some tips on how I created the starburst garland on my page;)

p.s. I love the colors in the Merry and Bright collection...they match all of our ornaments and Christmas decorations, which I am almost (almost!) ready to pull out! Have to get through Thanksgiving first though;)
p.p.s. Merry and Bright is now available as a digital collection HERE!
p.p.p.s. Have you seen the newest Carta Bella collection, Devoted? pretttty!

fall+a challenge

Good Morning! I am hosting my first challenge on the Scraptastic blog today and I would love for you all to play along!

It's a simple one, all you have to do is create a project with a grid design on it. Here is the example page I created, using the Farmer's Market kit and add-on:
I had some fallish instagrams, so I used the grid design to fit them all on here;)

Here is a close up:
I loved using those teeny Lily Bee stickers to do my journaling around the grid:)

I would love to see your take on this challenge! You can link up your projects HERE to enter, and remember you have until December 4th at midnight to enter all of the November challenges (there is one posted each Thursday) for a chance at a $20 gift card to the shop:)

paper issues

About a month or so ago, my sweet friend Patricia hooked me up with a sweet gig at Paper Issues.
If you aren't familiar with Paper Issues, it's like this:
Basically every couple weeks there is a new theme (check out the newest one that started yesterday HERE). You can link up your projects that fit the theme...they do not have to be new, so surely you have something that goes with the current theme. You like Paper Issues, you like the amazing sponsor that is offering up prizes and you get a chance to win a prize:) The Paper Issues blog features projects at least twice a day that people have linked up. So it is a great way to share your work and network with other people who are obsessed with paper;)

That is not quite it though, there is a Paper Issues shop that has supplies from all the best manufacturers as well as kits in various sizes. Check out the newest kit HERE (it's a December Daily kit!!).

You can use the code PAM20 anytime to receive 20% off of your order;)
Cassie, the shop owner, is offering free domestic shipping for Election Day...the code is FREESHIP, but you can only use one code, so you will have to figure out which one is a better deal for ya;)

Here is my latest order from the shop...
I am kinda creating my own DD this year, so the product collecting has begun;)

thank you bunches

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We enjoyed some extra time this morning thanks to fall back;) The morning-get-out-of-the-house routine wasn't quite so rushed, thank goodness!

Today, I have my first official project up on the Jillibean Soup blog, yay!

I created a card using the Country Pumpkin Soup line:

I love the colors and patterns in this line. The red polka dot is part of the Soup Staples II line and I used that on quite a few of my projects this month...the colors go great with the other Jillibean lines and that polka dot is just the right size polka dot, if you ask me;)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to get in a little more blogging in this week, I have lots to share;)

scraptastic club november kits

It's a new month, which means new kits at Scraptastic Club! I am a lucky girl and am playing with BOTH kits this month and I honestly can say that I can't decide which one is my favorite.

Without further ado, we have Farmer's Market:

Farmer's Market add-on:

For Farmer's Market, I got the main kit as well as the add-on. Jessica always packs so many embellishments in the kits, and it is so fun mixing the 2 together to create tons of projects. So far I have created 2 cards with this kit:

I am so happy there was washi tape...I am slowly adding to my collection!! I am also in love with the glittery leaves that were included in the main Farmer's Market kit.

The other kit is When Skies Are Gray:
I am cracking in to this one next;)

One things that is new this month as far as stamps go are some exclusive stamps designed by our very own Heather Landry! You can purchase them in the stamp add-on, or each set separately.

I love both of them, and you can see in the above card, I played around with the fall themed set;)
Which kit catches your eye? Or do you need them both?

trick or treat!

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween yesterday! We had a good one. We trick-or-treated in Seaside, one of the beach communities down here. We have done that the past 3 years and it is nice because it is from 4-6 and the kids don't get tons of candy. The merchants do a really great job making it fun and A always sees a bunch of kids from school. I grabbed some shots of the kids before we headed off:
K was a monster (although a lot of people thought he was a dinosaur because of the tail on the back). He was so indecisive about his costume this year, but when he tried this on at the store, he wanted it and did not want to take it off;)

I told him to make a scary monster face;)

Aislynn had said for the longest time she wanted to be Hermione from Harry Potter, but when it got closer, she decided she wanted to be a hippy:)
I think a lot of that decision had to do with wearing a tie dyed shirt;) I made her the vest by buying a shirt 2 sizes bigger from the clearance rack at Old Navy and chopping it up. The glasses were ordered (and got here yesterday, phew!), the headband was found at Justice, and the peace sign necklace was from Children's Place.
She got a lot of compliments, especially from adults;)

Grabbed a couple of shots of both of them...

He was roaring at her;)

When we were almost done trick-or-treating, we grabbed a shot of the 4 of us by propping the camera on a table...
I'm embarrassed to say that I think this might be the first family picture the whole year? I think? What kinda scrapbooker Mom am I?!

And that was that! We headed home to check out the loot (woot, at Kieran says!) and wrap this halloween up.

I hope you and your families had a wonderful day filled with all treats and no tricks;)
